Terms of use

Last updated 18 September 2026

These terms cover your use of the Xol launcher, the Xol client and this website (“Xol”). By installing or using Xol you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Xol.

1. What Xol is

Xol is an independent launcher and cosmetic client for Minecraft: Java Edition. Xol is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Xol does not include the game. The game is downloaded from Mojang's servers to your computer under your own licence.

2. You need your own copy of Minecraft

You must own Minecraft: Java Edition and sign in with the Microsoft account that owns it. Your use of the game remains subject to the Minecraft End User Licence Agreement and Microsoft's terms. Xol will not launch the game for an account without the entitlement, and you may not use Xol to get around that check.

3. Fair play

Xol is display-only and makes no gameplay modifications. Even so, every server sets its own rules and may forbid modified clients or particular features. You are responsible for following the rules of the servers you join. Xol makes no promise that any server permits it, and is not responsible for bans or other action a server takes against your account.

You may not modify Xol, or combine it with other software, in order to cheat, to evade a server's detection, or to misrepresent which client you are running.

4. Your account and access key

Keep your Microsoft account secure; Xol never asks for your password outside Microsoft's own sign-in page. During closed development, Xol is available by invitation and an access key may be issued to you. Keys are personal; do not share or sell them. We may suspend or revoke a key that is shared, abused, or used to attack the service.

5. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Xol for your own non-commercial play. You may not redistribute Xol's installers, resell it, or remove its notices. Third-party components keep their own licences, which are listed in the application.

6. Pre-release software

Xol is in development. Builds may be unsigned, may contain defects, and may change or stop working. Back up worlds you care about. Features described on this site may change before a public release.

7. No warranty

Xol is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Xol and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, worlds, accounts or profits, arising from your use of Xol. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer.

9. Privacy

The privacy policy explains what data Xol handles. In short: credentials stay on your device, and there is no tracking.

10. Ending

You can stop using Xol at any time by uninstalling it; your instances and worlds stay on your computer. We may end or suspend access for a breach of these terms.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above will change and significant changes will be announced in the launcher. Questions: hello@xol.dev.
